Matta Cafe
Pearl DistrictA Pearl District coffee bar run by the Matta family, who grow their single-origin beans on a farm in Colombia's Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. The case leans Colombian — arepas, empanadas, pan de bono — next to French pastry, and the back bar pours coffee cocktails on their own cold brew. Farm-to-cup, meant literally.
The order
A pour of their single-origin Colombian — the family grows it on their own farm in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta — alongside a cheesy-guava empanada or the pan de bono; come back later for a Carrajillo built on their house cold brew.
